Hey lovelies,
How are you guys holding up out there? Since the reopening of the economy and gradually return to a “new normal.” I’ve been venturing out to familiar places. The one thing that stands out most in every business I’ve entered is the sanitization station ( that’s what I’m calling them). Sanitizing your hands or wearing a mask before entering a business – sometimes both are for our protection as well as others. Like most of you, I have taken measures to make sure I always have a sanitizers on my person, In the scenario there isn’t any available at the business I’m entering or I’m not able to wash my hands right away.

Before I continue, I want to remind you the most effective way of keeping your hands clean is by washing with soap and water – as per Health Canada. However, when soap and water isn’t readily available these are the two hand sanitizers I have with me. Both companies are women led, Canadian wellness brands. I feel better about support these companies and keeping my very small contribution in the local economy, (more on that later as that is an entirely different blog post. )Both company have used similar ingredients and they both give the same results, this post isn’t about which is better, it’s about what I’ve been using.

I purchased the 50ml All Natural Hand Sanitizer with Hyaluronic Acid. I love the size as it is easy to transport in your purse, car, pocket or wherever. The grapefruit scented is very light and pleasant. All you need is two spritz, rub your hands together between the fingers and wrist, much the same as you would do when you wash with soap and water and BAM. you’re good to go until the next wash.
Ingredients List:
- 62% Ethyl alcohol (Ethanol)
- Water
- Glycerin
- Grapefruit Essential Oil
- Aloe Leaf Juice
- Hyaluronic Acid
I purchased the 30ml Dry Clean Rinse-free hand cleansers at Pressland General here in Mission B.C. This is another personal size hand santizer which comes out as a liquid rather than a gel. I prefer this method, I’m not a fan of the textures of gels on my hands. The scent of Dry-Clean was a little harder for me to lock down, instead I would say it has a gentle woodsy scent. Again two spritz and you are good to go.

Ingredients List:
- 99.9% Isopropyl Alcholol(60% v/v)
- Water
- Vegetable Glycerin
- Aloe Leaf Extract
- Lavender, Grapefruit, Cinnamon, Clover leaf – Essential Oil
Both hand sanitizers have similar indgredient lists as you can see with the exception of a few minor differences and both give the same results, I have also used both to spritz handles of shopping carts in stores that do not clean the handles between each shopper. I say all that to say, These are great on the go sanitizers and are very helpful in a pinch. I love both companies as they are aligned with my ethical and wellness beliefs. I hope everyone is keeping well out in the world at such an uncertain time in our lives.
What are you using to help keep your hands clean when you’re not able to wash your hands right away?
