Hi Barbie! Let’s Go Shopping.

It’s a Barbie World and we are just living in it. If you haven’t encountered Barbie and her marketing team sometime this month then you are definitely living off grid or under a rock.

The new Barbie Film opened in theatres last week and has been a huge box office success. The lead up to the film has influence everything from paint, household decor to cosmetics and clothing. May folks are surprised that Barbie, a child’s toy has been so wildly received all over.

I personally believe it is the levity most of us need to escape from the last three years, the news cycle and talks of inflation and the impending doom of the planet.Full disclosure, I haven’t seen the movie yet but I took the time to scour the internet for Barbie inspired items I would purchase.

Let’s start off with cosmetics. Fuchsia pink or in this case Barbie Pink, is a tough colour to pull off for most but we are making it work.

Here is a great example from M.A.C. showcasing how to pull off this amazing bright pink look

Moving on to garments for the classic Barbie. We have looks from Hudson Bay. A lovely 1950s inspired gingham dress which is giving Malibu Barbie arriving to lunch. Or a gorgeous pink trench coat with daisies on the collar. Finally, A Chanel inspired tweed jacket paired with jeans to give that relaxed but polished look.

If these are not your vibe, you can always spice it up with bright, bold looks looks from ZARA. Covering a variety of style choices you have the oversize look, The vintage lingerie as lounge wear look as well as something for our beautiful plus-size Barbie’s.

For our relaxed Barbie’s I found the most comfortable rompers you will ever wear from Smash + Tess. You could use my link to shop for 10% off their site.

Let’s not forget suiting for our corporate Barbie look. Personally, I think flip flops with suiting is an odd choice which brings us to our next category of Barbie inspired items.

SHOES and purses.

I think accessories make or break an outfit. Here is my selection of Barbie inspired shoes and bags. I cover a variety of price points as I typically do in my own personal style.

The shoes are all Steve Madden and I feel we capture just about every style minus runners and flats but how beautiful is that Metallic cowboy boot?

Lastly purses, I still have a Chanel classic flap in pink on my wish list . I feel as if that is the ideal bag for any season. These bags however are perfect for all our Barbie’s.

Have you seen the Barbie Film? Have you found yourself purchasing anything inspired by Barbie? Let me know in the comments.
