Up-cycled Farmhouse Flower Planter

I bought this, what I’m assuming to be – flower planter at the Abbotsford Flea Market a few years back. It sat in the basement of our old house until I completely forgot about it. My intention was to up cycle the planter and turn it into something beautiful but just never got around to it. While moving, I decided the time is now to finally get around to this little D.I.Y./ upcycle project.

I set aside some time to repaint the planter and bring my vision to life. In the video below, I give a step-by-step of my process including the type of flowers and dirt chosen.

What you’ll need;

  • A wire Brush
  • Spray paint
  • Drop Cloth
  • Potting Soil
  • Flowers of your choice.

When the petunia and verbena were originally planted, it didn’t have the oomph I was looking for. I promised that once the flowers began filling out I would do an update. I’ve added below a two week update of the overall look the contrast between the white and red is so magical me. This is exactly, what I had envisioned.

Upcycle Farmhouse Planter.

Are you working in your garden this summer? What sort of beautiful things did you plant?
