Hello, Lovelies.

I’ve been taking a different approach to health and wellness and decided to try something I’ve been curious about for quite a few years. Oil Pulling! I grew up seeing my grandmother brushing her teeth with charcoal, swishing coconut oil in her mouth and also chewing garlic. Truthfully, I thought she was odd but as I grew older I now understand why she lived past 90 years old. It was her holistic approach to life.

Rather than scoop some coconut oil in my mouth and began swishing around. I got the chance to try Masigi Oil Pulling boost. There are two flavours of the Masigi Oil Pulling line.

  • Boost Ginger and Grapefruit
  • Fresh Peppermint and Spearmint

What is oil pulling?

Oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic medicinal practice. Oil pulling is done by swishing around coconut oil in your mouth. Passing it through your gums and around the teeth repeated daily for best results. This is done to promote holistic oral health.

What’s Ayurvedic?

According to Google

” Ayurveda, or ayurvedic medicine, is a healthy-lifestyle system that people in India have used for more than 5,000 years. Ayurveda emphasizes good health and prevention and treatment of illness through lifestyle practices (such as massage, meditation, yoga, and dietary changes) and the use of herbal remedies.”

I choose the Boost Ginger and Grapefruit. The packets came in a larger box and are individually packaged and this makes it easier for you to use the right amount. You only need one packet per session. The package advises you to knead the product before opening to soften the product for a bit as it is a lot more palatable that way. As well as organic cold process coconut oil tends to harden when it’s cold.natoyaista, just natoya, natoya ellisOil pulling, dental health, oral health, coconut, coconut oil, teeth, ayurvedic, wellnessil, teeth, ayurvedic, wellness

Admittedly, I ignored this mostly( I kneaded it a little) and opened it and squeezed the semi-liquid contents into my mouth. Honestly, the texture was almost too much and I felt like gagging. So do yourself a favour and follow the instructions. I didn’t think I would have that reaction but it makes a world of difference to soften the product.

Product properly kneaded

I set my phone time and swished the product around for the recommended time then spat and washed my mouth out with water.

My initial response after washing my mouth out was WOW my mouth feels fresh! and my teeth felt very smooth. I continued to try Masigi’s oil pulling for a month. I sincerely feel in order to properly try a product such as this you need to give it time. My long term response is that it increases the freshness of my breath longer than brushing does. I have very good oral health and can see if this working well for someone with gum problems.natoyaista, just natoya, natoya ellisOil pulling, dental health, oral health, coconut, coconut oil, teeth, ayurvedic, wellness

Would I purchase it?

I already have. Oil Pulling has become a part of my dental routine and I don’t think I’ll be stopping anytime soon.

Have you guys tried oil pulling? Let me know in the comments.
