Decor: Coffee Table Books

I’m still in the unpacking phase of my move. You already know how that goes. You move and unpack the essentials and then you slowly go through the boxes of things you use as accent pieces throughout the house. I went into our dreaded basement of boxes to find a missing box of clothes and unearth my coffee table boxes. Oh the excitement, I live for a really great oversized coffee table book!

Most of these books, I’ve picked up along the way from garage sales and book store sales. While I do love a great coffee table book. I sometimes scuff at the prices.  They are expensive but so worth it. You can get a coffee table book on almost any subject matter. But my subject matter is obvious!

  • ART
  • FASHION
  • HOME DECOR

I haven’t found a comprehensive makeup coffee table book I would like to invest in just yet. But if you have any suggests please forward them along. Below I’ll be sharing a few of my favourites.

The Impressionists And Thier Legacy – Edited by Martha Kapos

The Impressionists were a group of artist who opposed the establishment of art at the time “Salon and the Academy” They wanted to show their art directly to the public. In their very own self-organized exhibits.

Which a few of them manage to accomplish in 1910 with the help of critic Roger Fry. The exhibition featured works by Vincent Van Gogh, Henri Matisse, Paul Cezanne and Paul Gaugin. This exhibition made history as the birth of modern art. The core artist forming this group of impressionists are, Monet, Renoir, Sisley, Pissarro, Cezanne, Morisot, Degas, This is one of my favorite books on the movement.
