I’ve never purchased anything from Tarte cosmetics. I often pass over it at Sephora. I’d marvel at the fun, vibrant colors and then simply move on. It wasn’t until Graveyard girl came out with her palette I took serious notice! I didn’t get one of her palettes, unfortunately. They sold out before I got around to it. I decided it’s time I try something from Tarte. The “Make Believe In yourself – Eye + Cheek palette” had me right away!
The “Make Believe In yourself – Eye + Cheek palette” had me right away! I loved the overall design of the packaging before even opening the palette. I loved the pinks, blues and purple geometric shapes on the rounded container accentuated by gold hardware. I was in love. Not to mention, The colors are so beautiful, heavily pigmented and shimmery but at $52.00 CND I swatched the heck out of the palette instate before I bought it just to be certain I needed to know this best be worth it.
Once I decided on the palette I went to test out their famous Tarteist Lip Paints. I opted for a deep burnt red shade called “killin’ it!” How fitting right? The Lip paint goes on smooth and glossy and dries down to a perfect matte. If you need a bit of shine you can pop a lipgloss overtop. Needless to say, I’ll be adding lip paints to my collection.
Let me tell you, this stays on all day. ALL day wear for sure. But I do love this deep burnt red shade and I’ve worn it every day this week.
Here are also my searches for the “make believe in yourself palette. At the time of this photo, I had forgotten to swatch MYSTIC and the Holographic iridescent highlighter. Which is blindingly beautiful by the way.
My overall thoughts on this palette? It is worth every penny. There is the right amount of earth tone shades to use in your everyday makeup application and four of you are looking for a little bit more drama for an evening out.
Myth the perfect transition shade and is totally matte. Based on your skin tone you may also be able to use the highlighter as an accent to give your eyes that pop! But for myself, Wings + Trance are the shades I keep going to.
The initial purchase is a little tough if you don’t want to spend a lot of money on a palette but quite honestly the color pay off and over all quality of the palette is amazing. It’s beautifully designed and will be a great addition to your kit.
